Don’t Buy Into Occupation

PAX is a leading member of the Don’t Buy into Occupation coalition. We investigate investments by European financial institutions in companies that are involved in illegal Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. We urge financial institutions to take action and divest from companies that continue to facilitate human rights violations.

Transformative Justice in Ninewa 

With the Transformative Justice program, we support victims and survivors of human rights abuses to participate in inclusive, community-based justice processes - such as women, youth, and minorities - and local organizations, we empower victims to advocate for their rights.

Arms Trade

Arms trade can fuel conflicts and contribute to serious human rights violations. PAX works towards stricter and more effective Dutch and international arms transfer controls. Since 2003, it has been an active member of the international Control Arms coalition, working towards a strong Arms Trade Treaty (ATT).

Explosive weapons in populated areas

The use of explosive weapons in populated areas causes grave civilian harm in conflict, especially those explosive weapons with wide area effects, like heavy aircraft bombs or multi barrel rocket launchers. They kill and maim people upon use, and cause grave destruction to civilian infrastructure like schools, hospitals, energy and water infrastructure which leads to severe indirect and often inter related reverberating effects.

Stop Blood Coal

In Cesar, Colombia, coalmining by companies Drummond and Prodeco coincided with increasing armed violence, leading to over 3,100 murders and 59,000 displacements in the region between 1996 and 2006. Since 2011, PAX has been advocating for victims' rights to remedy and accountability for human rights abuses linked to coal mining.
