The Devil is in the Detail (February 2008)

For many years, the Netherlands had not played a constructive role in the international suit against cluster munitions. Initially it did not want a complete ban. Just three months before the international treaty prohibiting cluster munitions appeared ‘The Devil is in the Detail’ spoke up against the Dutch government’s position and appealed to it to commit to a complete ban. A few months later, The Netherlands complied and signed the treaty against cluster munitions.
