Over the past twenty years, armed forces used depleted uranium during wars in the Balkans, Kuwait, and Iraq. Governments claim that using depleted uranium is not an issue. Yet, they have extensive regulations to protect their own military personnel from this substance. Our report highlights this discrepancy and makes recommendations about how to protect civilians in conflict regions from depleted uranium.
