PAX joins forces with other international and Syrian organizations in call for transparency and justice for the thousands of missing and detained people in Syria.
Six years ago, four Syrian human rights defenders were abducted in Douma, a suburb of Damascus. Razan Zeitouneh, Wael Hamada, Samira al-Khalil and Nazim Hammadi have since been known as the Douma 4.
On the anniversary of their abduction, PAX, together with more than 50 Syrian and international organisations, calls on the United Nations and the international community to find out what happened to the Douma 4, along with all the other missing and detained people in Syria. In addition, PAX calls on the UN and the international community to ensure the freedom and safety of human rights defenders as the first step in a political process that will lead to a democratic Syria.
