Over 50 women and male allies from various South Sudan states gathered in Juba from 11–13 November 2025 for a biannual exchange visit organized by PAX Movement Netherlands Foundation under the German-funded Empowered Women Influence (EWI) Project. The workshop served as a platform to discuss legal frameworks, international instruments, and strategies to promote women’s rights and combat gender-based violence. Participants shared experiences and insights from their regions, with facilitators urging them to actively apply their newfound knowledge in advocacy within their own communities. Key voices included a legislator, a senior government inspector, and various women advocacy group representatives, all stressing the need for legal reforms, addressing cultural practices like forced marriages, and strengthening partnerships to end GBV. The exchange successfully built a strong network among women leaders across South Sudan, with participants leaving committed to driving meaningful reforms and advocating for gender equality and sustainable peace in their regions.
