Women and male allies from various South Sudan locations gathered in Juba for a biannual exchange organized by PAX Movement Netherlands Foundation, under the German-funded Empowered Women Influence (EWI) project. Participants shared field experiences and prepared joint messages for radio advocacy campaigns at two local FM stations. Key themes discussed included combating gender-based violence, forced marriages, poor road infrastructure, and harmful cultural norms that hinder women’s empowerment. Participants highlighted concrete achievements, such as keeping girls in school, promoting women into leadership roles, and enabling women to speak publicly and advocate for their rights. The exchange concluded with a unified call for continued donor support to extend the EWI project beyond 2026, to protect gains made and reach more remote communities.
