More than a decade of conflict has drastically worsened Syria’s water insecurity, placing it on the list of the world’s most water-stressed countries. With a range of conflict and climate-driven challenges, action is needed for the future of a greener Syria. We urge the new Syrian government and the international community to support Syria’s transition and socio-economic recovery to prioritize addressing water security issues.
