Sahel strategy 2024 – 2028

The Sahel region faces multifaceted challenges, including conflict, poverty, environmental degradation, and poor governance on top of severe recurrent terrorist attacks. Achieving sustainable peace requires a comprehensive approach that addresses the root causes of instability and fosters peaceful societies that could support sustainable development of communities. This roadmap outlines key steps for implementing PAX’s future Sahel strategy based on the intersection of the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) nexus and conflict transformation.
