Gasping for Air

This report examines the multifaceted drivers behind Iraq’s air pollution crisis, as well as its consequences for public health, the environment and climate. The report explores six major causes of the crisis: the fossil fuel industry; energy generation; motorised vehicles; conflict-related causes; the manufacturing industry; and waste management. It also looks at how climate change and sociopolitical factors contribute to air pollution.
