Empowering and strengthening Women Legislators in the national capital Juba, South Sudan

Over 50 female Members of Parliament and representatives from national and state assemblies gathered in Juba in May 2025 for a PAX-organized, German-funded workshop aimed at strengthening their lobbying, advocacy, and legislative drafting skills to better combat gender-based violence. Participants worked on drafting bills and lobbying strategies, with facilitators stressing the importance of proactive legislative action to close the gap between enacted laws and their enforcement. Female lawmakers expressed growing confidence and commitment to championing women’s rights and children’s welfare through legislation. PAX extended gratitude to the German government for making the transformative workshop possible.
