We draw the Red Line Again

On Sunday, 5 October, we will once again draw a Red Line. After two Red Line demonstrations in The Hague, it is now the turn of Amsterdam.

In May, 100,000 people joined us in drawing the Red Line through The Hague. In June, as many as 150,000 people took part in the Red Line. We demanded that the government take action to stop the genocide in Gaza. Yet the government is still doing nothing.

This is unacceptable

In view of the upcoming elections, it is particularly important to make our voices heard, loud and clear.

The Netherlands must face the facts: Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Our government must finally take firm political, economic and diplomatic measures: from ending military cooperation and imposing a complete arms embargo to ending trade that contributes to the illegal occupation.

Look at our demands

We demand that Dutch politicians:

  1. The Netherlands should acknowledge the facts: Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
  2. The Netherlands must therefore take much stronger political, economic and diplomatic measures against Israel in order to stop the countless war crimes, crimes against humanity, apartheid against Palestinians and genocide in Gaza that have been documented by experts, including:
    • Ending military cooperation linked to the above crimes and imposing a comprehensive arms embargo.
    • Ending military cooperation linked to the above crimes and imposing a comprehensive arms embargo.
    • Imposing measures against those in high positions who are responsible for the above crimes.
  3. The Netherlands must ensure a sustainable ceasefire, full access to and protection of humanitarian aid, and the evacuation of seriously ill people.
  4. The Netherlands must do everything in its power to ensure accountability and punishment for crimes committed under international law, including support for and protection of international courts in The Hague.
  5. The Netherlands must exert maximum pressure for the release of all people detained without charge or trial.
  6. The Netherlands must exert maximum pressure to bring a definitive end to the illegal occupation of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, in line with the ruling of the International Court of Justice.

Come to Amsterdam on 5 October dressed in red to show politicians, the whole of the Netherlands and the rest of the world that we demand concrete action from politicians for Palestine. Bring your friends and family. Let’s demand action with even more people. Together we can increase the pressure.

Join us. Draw the red line
