Stand with Ukraine

After four years of large-scale Russian aggression, we still stand shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainian community. It feels surreal that we have to commemorate this yet another year. The bitter reality is that it remains necessary, as the violence against Ukraine continues. Civilians suffer the consequences every single day. On 22 February, the Ukrainians in the Netherlands Foundation will commemorate four years since the large-scale Russian invasion on De Dam, in Amsterdam. We will be there. Will you join us?

Four years of full-scale war means more than 1400 days of relentless attacks, destroyed cities, and a struggle that is felt throughout the whole Ukrainian society. While the world sometimes seems to get used to the images, the Russian occupation remains a daily nightmare of violence and oppression for millions of people. Especially now, in the midst of a harsh winter, Russia is terrorising the Ukrainian civilian population with almost daily attacks on energy infrastructure, leaving millions of people without power in freezing temperatures. Ukrainians fight every day for their survival and freedom.

That is why we advocate for military support for self-defence and for supporting a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. This means restoring Ukrainian sovereignty, rebuilding the country and supporting its economic recovery, delivering justice for the victims, and ensuring full Russian accountability for the damage inflicted and for war crimes committed. We can only safeguard the security of all of Europe by offering steadfast support to Ukraine politically, economically, ánd militarily.

Stand in solidarity with Ukrainians. Rolien Sasse, our director, will also be giving a speech during the manifestation.
