In a stirring message to UN member states, PAX, alongside a coalition of over 150 NGOs, called on the international community to end the impunity that has enabled ongoing atrocities by Israeli forces against civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, and now Lebanon. This urgent appeal highlights the growing humanitarian crisis in the region. As part of this initiative, PAX is urging the Dutch government to push for a ceasefire and accountability for these violations. PAX, which focuses on promoting peace and justice in conflict-affected areas globally, emphasizes that governments have both a moral and legal obligation to intervene. The coalition’s statement, released today, stresses that international actors must prevent further atrocities and hold violators of international law accountable. The statement coincides with an international conference hosted by France in Paris, aiming to address Lebanon’s crisis with the participation of the Lebanese government, the UN, the EU, and civil society organizations. The coalition underscores that failure to act now will perpetuate further violence against civilians.
