The Red Line actions are a growing public movement in the Netherlands, co-organised and initiated by PAX, together with a broad coalition of civil society organisations. The campaign symbolises a moral and political boundary that the Netherlands must not cross when it comes to violations of international law.
Still bigger. Still louder. Earlier this year, 100,000 people joined the Red Line action in The Hague and 150,000 in Rotterdam. Now, in Amsterdam, the movement reached a new record: more than 250,000 participants.

Stop complicity
The message to Dutch politics was clear. Israel’s assault on Gaza continues, and the Netherlands is still doing far too little to help end it — even though it has the means and the responsibility to act.
Together with partners, PAX calls on the government to take concrete political, economic and diplomatic measures: from suspending military cooperation and implementing a full arms embargo, to ending trade that contributes to the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories.
Our demands
The coalition’s key demands to the Dutch government are:
- Acknowledge the reality: Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
- Act accordingly: Take strong political, economic and diplomatic measures to end the ongoing violations of international law, including:
- Halting military cooperation and imposing a comprehensive arms embargo.
- Stopping all trade and investment that sustain the illegal occupation and contribute to human rights violations.
- Holding individuals accountable for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.
- Ensure humanitarian access and protection: Support a sustainable ceasefire, full access for humanitarian aid, and the evacuation of the seriously ill.
- Uphold international justice: Support the work of international courts in The Hague to ensure accountability for grave violations.
- Demand the release of detainees held without trial.
- End the illegal occupation: Apply maximum diplomatic pressure to ensure compliance with international law and the rulings of the International Court of Justice.
The Red Line campaign reflects a growing movement for peace and justice in the Netherlands. With support from tens of thousands of people, PAX and its partners will continue to mobilise citizens and press for a consistent, human-rights-based Dutch foreign policy.
To make these actions possible, we rely on broad public support. You can help sustain this work through a one-time or structural donation. Every contribution strengthens the call for peace, justice and accountability.
