Tension is rising in Idlib. In Tehran the Turks, Iranians and Russians are deliberating about what comes next. It could be that the long-awaited attack on Idlib is about to begin.
“Hi Ahmed, how are you?”
“Thank you for asking. About our situation, what can I say? You know where we stand. Soon we’ll hear what their decision regarding us. I don’t have much time to talk because we’re going out to demonstrate. Just like in 2011, in Saraqeb we’ll let them know that we want to be free. The Russians have said that the people in Idlib want Bashar al-Assad back. We’ll show that that’s nonsense.”
“I won’t take my family and children – I’ll go alone. It may be dangerous. This morning there were bombings in the south. I think they want to frighten people in order to not take the streets. But we won’t let this stop us.”
“Ahmed, what can we say to people who ask us what they can do for you?”
“Actually you cannot do anything at all. The war is coming and nobody can stop it. But you know, just that you ask the question is very important to me. It’s a fantastic thought that there are people whom empathize with us and want to do something. Thanks everyone!”
“Ahmed, I’ll call you again the day after tomorrow, okay?”
“Of course, give my greetings to everyone!”
