This morning at 11 o’clock I spoke with Ahmed in Saraqeb again, #idlib. Negotiations between the superpowers have failed.
“Hi Ahmed, how are you?”
“Alright. We’ve been painting the inside of the youth center. We’re on the last bit, painting the staff room. When we complete that it will finally be finished. I told the kids that we will be closed for two days.”
“Last night I couldn’t sleep very well. The Russian Air Force Facebook page says the jihadists are storing chemical weapons here in Saraqeb. You know what that means … ”
“Anyway, we want to open the center again the day after tomorrow. There is still a lot to do so I hope we can meet the deadline.”
“I am going back to painting, say hi to everyone, and we’ll speak again soon.”
